English and Creative Writing | Introduction
Important Announcement
In May 2011, the University of Glamorgan established its Faculty of Business and Society. The discipline of English now resides in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at www.glam.ac.uk/fbs.

If you are fascinated by the written and spoken word, love reading or want to hone your writing skills, then one of our English and creative writing degree courses will offer you the chance to develop your potential and enhance your employment prospects.
We offer undergraduate degree courses in English Literature and Creative and Professional Writing.
You can also study a combination of subjects, either through the popular BA English or through our Major/Minor/Joint programme, which includes a new Minor in TESOL
Particular Literature specialisms at Glamorgan include the Gothic, literature and science, modernism, Welsh writing in English, and women’s writing. In studying language modules you can develop your understanding of how language works whether in everyday talk, the media, the work place, or bi-lingualism. Creative Writing is taught through workshops which will introduce you to a range of genres including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, journalism and writing for children.
The ability to use language with care and discrimination is highly prized by employers. Our graduates go on to a wide range of interesting and challenging careers including publishing, teaching, public relations, human resources, journalism, advertising, the civil service, broadcasting, corporate communications, forensic linguistics, as well as postgraduate study and research.
Postgraduate opportunities at Glamorgan include the MA Gothic Studies, and MA Literature, Culture and Society, and the MPhil in Writing.
