In a special Christmas issue of BBC History magazine, Head of Glamorgan’s History division, Dr Fiona Reid, describes Christmas celebrations in Displaced Persons camps in Germany after the Second World War. The United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration was responsible for most of the displaced people (DPs), yet voluntary societies, such as the Friends Relief Services (FRS), organised by the Quakers, played a huge role too.
