The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences encompasses a wide range of courses and subject areas that share common ideals. All of the faculty’s awards are dedicated to employability and career development, supported by a robust tradition of academic learning. We work closely with employers to ensure our graduates meet the demanding requirements of today’s workplace.
The faculty has an excellent teaching reputation – many staff are actively involved in world-class research, so students will be taught by lecturers who are national and international experts in their field. The teaching staff include the current TS Eliot prize winner, Professor Philip Gross, Ross Hall, who was the sport psychologist to the British Paralympic Rugby team and Professor Howard Williamson, a member of the national ‘Street Weapons Commission’, which was chaired by Cherie Blair.
